I've never felt so bittersweet to be home...
I didn't know my grandpa that well, but my memories of him are fond. I remember when I was younger, I would always be at his house. He would always be cutting up fruit for me and Irene to eat. He liked eating hamburgers from McDonald's, even up to the time when he would go to the hospital often. I loved that about him...how much he enjoyed food, how much he enjoyed life. My grandpa was also really funny. Leng ji (pretty boy), he'd always say. Tehehe, and he called himself a leng ji. He even cracked a funny ass joke the last time I saw him...he loved life so much and was such a fighter.
It's not fair...one of the biggest reason's I was so excited to come home for Lunar New Year was to see him...but I never got the chance to...I remember the last thing I remember him saying was how when Lunar New Year rolls around, he'll cheng (treat) us all to a big dinner with 3 tables for all of the family. I think he was expecting to be all better by then.
Fuck..it's crazy how fast two months went by...
RIP
I love you grandpa. I will miss you.
